Matt Conti, MSW, LICSW
For nearly 15 years, I worked as a high school teacher, advisor, dean, and administrator. Working with adolescents was fun, rewarding, and always kept me on my toes. I began teaching in 2008, and over the course of my time as an educator, I watched the mental health of my students decline. I had the skills to build deep and trusting relationships with students inside and beyond the classroom, but lacked the tools to address the underlying issues affecting their wellbeing. Motivated to support young people in new ways, I enrolled at Boston College in 2021 to retrain as a clinical social worker. As a social worker, I have worked in college settings, residential substance use treatment, and a community mental health clinic. I have significant clinical experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use, and specialize in working with adolescents and emerging adults. I bring a particular appreciation for the stage of life between childhood and full adulthood, an understanding of the pressures of this age range, and a wealth of experience helping people navigate the challenges of youth.
I feel comfortable working with people of all identities and backgrounds. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults, healthcare professionals, Jewish and other faith communities, and older adults. I strive to be culturally competent and curious as I learn about another person. I believe everyone needs to be heard and helped regardless of religion, creed, or political beliefs.
